StanleySmith continues to expand with new key additions

Case management business StanleySmith is continuing to add new expertise to its team to increase its award-winning service to clients.

StanleySmith Case Management has made two new recent case manager appointments – Nina Griffiths and Lorna Kennedy – both of whom come from backgrounds in nursing.

The growing business has expertise in a range of specialist areas of therapy and healthcare and the addition of nursing expands its offering and expert knowledge further still.

Nina also has a successful track record in delivering bespoke complex care training to carers, which StanleySmith can now offer in-house to employees should this be the best approach for the client and their team, continuing to enhance the support available to all who work with the case management business.

“Nina in particular has experience in training carers and where appropriate is going to provide in-house training for our support workers, which will make the training we offer more timely and bespoke than ever before,” says Nikki Smith, co-founder and director.

This adds further to StanleySmith’s bespoke training provision, with case manager Fiona Wylie adding crucial support for its team in moving and handling, having been EDGE trained in the specialism.

The growth of StanleySmith – winner of best small case management company at the CMSUK Awards 2022 – continues to gather pace, with the business building a reputation for its work with clients with highly complex needs.

It is also known for its sector-leading support of its team, with psychology-led sessions to help protect their wellbeing being a key aspect of StanleySmith’s operation.

“It’s an exciting time for us and being able to bring in new people with highly specialised clinical skills as we continue to grow is great,” says Heidi Stanley, director and co-founder of StanleySmith.

“Both of our new case managers are nurses, which brings a different aspect of care and knowledge to our team.

“A lot of our clients have very complex needs, requiring complex care and skill in order to ensure safety and promote quality of life, and with in-house nursing experience, we can deliver an even more bespoke service.

“Through their backgrounds in nursing, they can identify health concerns from the carer records. In this way we are able to work preventatively reducing the need for crisis management.

“For instance, I’ve been working on a case with a large team where the client has a high level of medical needs. One of our nurses is going to be taking over that case, her medical knowledge base means that she is a really good fit for that client.

“Because a lot of our clients have very complex needs, they often have challenging moving and handling requirements, so this aspect of training is very important in what we do.

“As an example, we have one young client who has very complex needs in this area, Fiona’s training is helping us to make sure the equipment meets the needs of the client. This ensures StanleySmith teams provide support that is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.”
