
NR Times is thrilled to reveal the shortlist for this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award is one of nine categories being recognised by the third-annual NR Times Awards
The honour recognises recognises individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the field through clinical innovation, research, education and patient advocacy.
Nominees have dedicated their careers to advancing treatment for neurological conditions affecting millions worldwide.
The award is sponsored by Proclaim Group, which brings together award-winning specialist rehabilitation, vocational and occupational therapy services through three specialist companies: Proclaim Care, Obair Associates and Resolve Health.
The winner of this and all other awards will be revealed at a virtual awards ceremony on November 19.

Lifetime Achievement Award Shortlist
Vicki Gilman, executive chair, Social Return Case Management

Vicki Gilman has built a substantial career in neuro-rehabilitation, progressing from physiotherapist to co-founder of Neural Pathways and Social Return Case Management.
As Chair of BABICM, she volunteered three days weekly to improve the organisation’s governance and member engagement.
She also contributed to establishing the Institute of Case Managers and continues working with its Events and Communications group.
Now in academia, Vicki mentors future health professionals while maintaining her practical involvement in the sector.
Dr Anita Rose, clinical director, Cognivate

Dr Anita Rose has devoted her career to transforming lives after neurological injury and illness.
A clinical neuropsychologist, leader, author, and advocate, she has shaped practice and inspired colleagues around the world with her combination of expertise, compassion, and vision.
As Clinical Director of Cognivate Rehabilitation, Patron of Mutual Support MS, and Trustee of the Sara Lee Trust, Dr Rose continues to influence services at both strategic and grassroots levels.
She is also a respected voice in academia, as author of books and articles on brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and the lived experience of neurological conditions, and through her long-standing editorial and reviewing roles for leading journals and publishers.
In 2024, her reputation as a thought leader was recognised internationally when she delivered the keynote Embracing Vulnerability in Lebanon, bringing humanity and courage to a global stage.
Elizabeth Wilce, project manager, Brainkind

Elizabeth Wilce has dedicated 27 years to improving neurorehabilitation access.
In 2012, she led the groundbreaking Brain Injury Linkworker Service (BILS), addressing overlooked brain injury needs in prison and homeless populations.
Through her leadership, the service expanded from one prison to 14 Linkworkers across England and Wales.
Recent evaluations show significant improvements in participants’ mental health, with reduced anxiety and low mood.
Her work also pioneered UK research connecting brain injury with domestic abuse survivors.
Because of Elizabeth’s hard work, innovation, and leadership, lives are changed every day.
