Specialist care provider demonstrates ‘excellence across all levels of the business’

Specialist care excellence is never spontaneous.

An ongoing holistic approach is needed, encompassing all care elements, from the recruitment and training of dedicated staff to a thorough quality assurance process.

For SweetTree, receiving a Specialist Care Expertise award in 2023 was not an endpoint but a milestone in their journey of continuous improvement.

Since 2002, their mission has been to provide the highest quality of life possible to those around us, from clients to staff, family members and partners.

Multiple accolades certify this, but it is the tangible rehabilitation experiences that best illustrate it.

On 21st November 2024, SweetTree won the Excellence in Homecare award at the LaingBuisson Healthcare Awards.

This is a true milestone for family owned SweetTree given the prestigious nature of the award which is given to a provider with “a demonstrated record of excellence across all levels of the business”.

In the words of the judges:

“This application demonstrates strong individual and community benefits with a profitable focus on social responsibility, showcasing impressive growth and high quality.

“Their unique holistic approach, including innovative technology, sets it apart, earning high marks in differentiation and innovation.

“The judges agreed that this entry stands out for its strong emphasis on learning and development”.

What Success Really Means: LPW

Every milestone achieved is an acknowledgement of our team’s tireless commitment to create a home care experience that is as personal as it is exceptional.

A Best of British Businesses feature by the Independent’s Business Profile Report  shows how SweetTree’s dedication is changing the meaning of care.

LPW’s Story

LPW is a young man who sustained a traumatic brain injury five years ago.

Before the injury, LPW was an independent and active individual, deeply engaged in his community and passionate about nature and cultural activities.

However, the brain injury left him unable to perform daily tasks independently.

Recognising the need for professional assistance, his case manager referred the family to SweetTree Home Care Services.

SweetTree assigned him a dedicated team of Specialist Brain Injury support workers who worked with LPW.

One team member, KC, played a very special role in his recovery. For over two years, KC worked closely with LPW, focusing on rebuilding his confidence and independence.

KC’s approach was holistic and personalised, aimed at understanding his specific needs, preferences, and challenges.

After just over three years of dedicated support, LPW has reached a level of independence where he no longer requires regular assistance from a support worker.

He has since given multiple talks at universities, discussing his life after the brain injury and how he overcame the associated challenges.

He often emphasises that the experience, though challenging, has made him a better person.
