Neurokinex secures National Lottery funding to support vital Step Up Scheme

Leading neurorehabilitation charity Neurokinex is delighted to announce it has received over £19,000 of National Lottery funding to support its Step Up Scheme, enabling 40 individuals to access vital early-stage rehabilitation following spinal cord injury.
The Step Up Scheme offers six free sessions of activity-based rehabilitation to people who are newly injured or diagnosed within the past 12 months.
Delivered at Neurokinex centres in Gatwick, Hemel Hempstead and Bristol, the programme introduces its life-changing rehabilitation approach to help individuals make a strong start on the road to recovery.
Funded by the Neurokinex Charitable Trust, the scheme is free to participants following NHS referral.
As a charity, Neurokinex relies on donations and fundraising to safeguard its future for those who need it most.
Kate Thornton-Jones, fundraising director at Neurokinex, said: “Early access to the right rehabilitation can make a profound difference to someone’s recovery journey.
“The Step Up Scheme gives people the opportunity to begin rebuilding strength, confidence and independence at a critical time as they are discharged from hospital and adjust to life at home.
“We are incredibly grateful to The National Lottery for helping us extend this support to even more individuals.”
