Charities working across brain and spinal injury are being encouraged to put themselves forward for the Charity of the Year category at the NR Times Awards 2026, with entries due to close on 30 September.
The category, sponsored by law firm Slater and Gordon, forms part of a wider awards programme run by NR Times to recognise excellence across the neuro-rehab sector, spanning categories from case management and therapy provision to leadership and lifetime achievement.
The award exists to highlight the charities whose work is critical to the lives of people living with neurological illness or injury, supporting patients and families through recovery and in their day-to-day lives.
Entrants will be judged on how innovative and proactive their organisation has been in sustaining and growing its work, and on how consistently service users are placed at the centre of everything the charity does.
Slater and Gordon, which is sponsoring the category, is one of the UK’s largest law firms, with more than 90 years of experience across personal injury, clinical negligence and family law, among other specialisms.
Recognition on offer
Winners across all categories will receive a physical award and sit down for an interview with an NR Times journalist.
Both winners and shortlisted entrants will also receive coverage across the NR Times website, social media channels and newsletter.
The wider aim of the awards is to shine a light on exemplary approaches, strong leadership, innovation and dedication across brain and spinal care, at every stage of the neuro-rehab journey.

- Entries close: 30 September 2026
- Shortlisting and judging: throughout October, alongside public voting for the People’s Choice Award
- Winners announced: late November, at an online video presentation
