An inquest into the death of a baby who suffered a serious brain injury at a Norfolk hospital is scheduled for January.
Luan Macauley Hart died shortly after his birth on 18 May last year at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) in King’s Lynn.
At an inquest opening at Norfolk Coroner’s Court, the provisional medical cause of death was given as hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy (HIE), a condition where the brain is starved of oxygen and blood flow during or shortly after birth.
A recent review held at the court confirmed the full inquest will take place on 20 January.
It is expected a statement from Luan’s family will be read, as well as evidence from the QEH.
