How fall preventing AI technology is helping to also prevent stroke

By using advanced digital health and AI technologies Mintt specialises in fall detection, prevention, and analysis.

However, how does its technology help stroke survivors? Mintt gives SR Times insight into its founding and how its technology can help with stroke prevention.

What was the inspiration behind Mintt?

One of the founders of Mintt had a heartbreaking personal experience. His beloved grandmother had a fall and was on the floor for hours before someone came to her aid. That’s when the founders of Mintt decided to create a company that combined technology and healthcare. Using the technological knowledge they already had developed by founding ‘softkinetic’, they developed the Mintt solution.

Can you tell us about Mintt’s technology and how it works?

Our technology is designed to address one of the most pressing healthcare challenges: fall prevention and management, particularly in older adults. Falls are a leading cause of injury among seniors, with over 37 million falls occurring yearly. Falls can lead to severe injuries, such as hip fractures, head traumas, and other life-threatening complications, including strokes.

Mintt’s technology leverages advanced machine learning algorithms and AI models to analyse the user’s behaviours and detect falls in real time, triggering alerts to healthcare providers, family members, or emergency services as necessary. Our technology also provides fall risk assessments to patients, enabling them to take proactive measures to prevent falls before they happen.

How does your technology help stroke survivors?

Moreover, our technology has significant implications for stroke management. Falls are a common cause of stroke, and early intervention is essential to minimise the risk of further complications. Indeed, a head injury can damage or weaken the blood vessels in the brain. This can cause them to rupture later, leading to a haemorrhagic stroke. Mintt’s technology can help patients by monitoring their movements and mobility and detecting any changes that could indicate a potential fall. Early detection allows for prompt medical intervention, minimising the risk of further damage and complications.

Are machine learning and artificial intelligence the answer to crack rising healthcare costs?

The benefits of our technology are immense. First and foremost, our fall detection and prevention technology can save lives by providing early intervention and reducing the risk of falls and associated complications. Additionally, our technology can reduce healthcare costs by preventing hospitalisations, reducing the need for emergency services, and allowing for earlier intervention and treatment.

What is next for Mintt?

Our ambition to expand our presence in Europe and assist new individuals is driven by our desire to enable individuals to utilise our solution, thereby promoting the ageing population’s ability to stay home longer. We firmly believe that every individual should have access to reliable technological tools to ensure the safety and well-being of their family members.

Mintt is at the forefront of digital health and AI technologies, using advanced algorithms to detect, prevent, and analyse falls and related complications. Our technology has significant implications for managing all falls related conditions, enabling earlier intervention and better outcomes. Our technology has the potential to revolutionise the way we manage falls and associated conditions, making a significant impact on public health and the quality of life for patients and their families.
