The world’s biggest rehab tech conference – RehabWeek – is being held in Asia for the first time in 2023 and will bring together leading experts in the field from across the globe.
RehabWeek is a week-long event that unites expertise in rehabilitation technology, providing a forum for sharing knowledge, ideas and best practice which will go on to change patients’ lives and improve outcomes.
It also brings together four influential global committees to enable cross-disciplinary communication and development – the International Consortium on Rehabilitation Robotics (ICORR); the International Functional Electrical Stimulation Society (IFESS); the International Industry Society in Advanced Rehabilitation Technology (IISART); and the International Society for Virtual Rehabilitation (ISVR).
The general chair of RehabWeek 2023 is Zen Koh, co-founder and global CEO of Fourier Intelligence, a business based in Singapore and Shanghai which has grown significantly to become an international leader in rehabilitation robotics, collaborating with others in the field to maximise the recovery potential of patients globally.
Zen is also the incoming president of IISART – a key organisation in helping to advance the fast-developing field internationally – and co-founder and executive director of MotusAcademy, established last year to provide a forum for continuing education and knowledge sharing in advanced robotics technology worldwide.
At RehabWeek, Zen will also chair the International Neuro Rehabilitation Symposium (INRS).
There will also be two general co-chairs of RehabWeek 2023 – Professor Guang Ning from Shanghai and Professor Philip Choo from Singapore.
As an endocrinologist for over 30 years, Prof Ning is a leading figure in his field in Asia and beyond. He is the Guang Qi Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and now serves as the President of Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He has extensively engaged with national and international strategic science collaboration.
Prof Choo is the group CEO of the National Healthcare Group (NHG) and an internationally-recognised geriatrician with over 25 years of experience. In recognition of his work in leading the medical team during the SARS epidemic, he was awarded the National Day Public Service Star Award in 2003, and subsequently the National Day Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2011, National Day Long Service Medal in 2015, and the National Day Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 2019.
