MS therapy centre closes due to flooding

An MS therapy centre in Wolverhampton has closed until further notice after flash flooding damaged the site.
The Wolverhampton Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre said the damage happened on 28 August after storms caused flash flooding across the region.
The centre will remain closed while the damage is assessed and discussions take place with insurers.
Paula Anderson, manager of the centre, said: “It was incredibly upsetting for all of us to see the centre, which means so much to so many people, affected in this way.
“We know how important the centre and the therapies we provide are to our members, and we are truly sorry that we have had to take this difficult step.
“Some therapies, such as foot therapy and reflexology, may still be able to go ahead, we will keep you informed as soon as we know more.”
The centre has operated in the West Midlands for more than 30 years and is a member of the Multiple Sclerosis National Therapy Centres Charity.
Patients can self-refer for therapies including physiotherapy and massage therapy, as well as Tai Chi and Reiki.
Anderson said attendees would be updated regularly by email and social media.
“We will endeavour to resume normal activities as soon as we can,” she said.
“We cannot thank you enough for your continued support, patience and understanding.
“The centre is here because of our amazing members, volunteers and supporters, and we will do everything we can to get through this together.”
