NR Times Awards to recognise life-changing innovation

The organisations and individuals leading the life-changing innovation being seen in neuro-rehab globally will be recognised in the inaugural NR Times Awards.

Innovation is at the heart of the vast advances in patient outcomes, both current and potential, with the work of dynamic and forward-thinking organisations helping to change the future.

Neuro-rehab is a sector seeing innovation across the board, from the individuals introducing innovative practice within organisations, organisations adopting new ways of working for the benefit of patients, through to those who are pioneering the technology of the future.

And to acknowledge some of the outstanding commitment and innovation from those involved in the sector, the NR Times Awards are looking to find those leading the way to be recognised in the Innovation in Neuro-Rehab Award.

One of 12 categories open for entry in the first-ever NR Times Awards, the Innovation in Neuro-Rehab category is open to NHS and private organisations, and welcomes submissions from around the world.

The award is sponsored by Iris Care Group, which provides specialist pathways of care in Wales and the West of England with a focus on people with complex needs and behaviours that challenge.

Peter Kinsey, chief executive of Iris Care Group, says: “Iris Care Group is delighted to be sponsoring this award for innovation in neuro-rehab.

“The group includes St Peters Hospital, a specialist centre for treatment and nursing care for individuals with degenerative neuropsychiatric conditions and acquired brain injury (ABI), so we are always seeking out new ways of supporting the individuals with neuro-rehab needs and are keen to encourage any ideas that will further improve the outcomes we achieve for the people we support.”

Deborah Johnson, editor of NR Times, adds: “We see innovation and innovative practice every day in this extremely dynamic and fast-moving sector, and we look forward to being able to shine a light on some of the outstanding and truly life-changing work that is happening.

“Innovation can take many forms. Whether you’re pioneering the technology with the potential to change lives globally, or you’re working on a small-scale project which is having significant positive impact on patients, we want to hear from you.”
