Top award nomination for Spinal Injuries Association podcast

The Spinal Injuries Association ‘I Didn’t Plan on This’ podcast has been nominated as podcast/audio campaign of the year at the UK Content Awards.

The podcast series released in February 2026 was created to give voice and visibility to people whose lives are shaped, directly or indirectly by spinal cord injury (SCI).

The nomination recognises that the podcast transformed hidden, often difficult experiences into powerful storytelling that aims to shift public attitudes, provide emotional support and importantly offers representation to a community too often overlooked.

Podcast co-host and SIA Network support manager Gary Dawson said: “What a great opportunity to highlight the challenges faced by people living with SCI to a wider audience who often only see the wheelchair or mobility aid and not the battles we face every single day”

Zoe Fox said: “I’m so thrilled for the whole team on this nomination and for the representation it brings to the wider SCI community, our challenges and our successes, I’m super proud to be part of this campaign.”

The award ceremony is on Thursday 11 June in London.
