The specialist Kibblesworth neurological rehabilitation centre in Gateshead, part of Active Care Group, recently welcomed a variety of local councillors, commissioners, and service representatives, for an open day celebration to show off their newly refurbished facilities.

The improvements will help to provide the highest quality care for residents who are recovering from a brain injury or have a long-term neurological condition.

Guests, included Lamesley Parish Council Members Steve Mullins, Jane McCoid and Sheila Gallagher, a representative from the Office of Parliament for Blaydon, and a Kibblesworth Parish Council member, as well as Lamesley Parish Council Chair Jackie Callaghan who expressed her gratitude and admiration for the team’s efforts, saying:

“Can I thank all the staff for our welcome today. It is a fabulous facility and both Councillor Mullins and I enjoyed the experience greatly.”

In addition to gaining a real insight into the work being done at Kibblesworth, visitors could hear first-hand from residents about the positive impact that the renovated facilities have already made on their daily routines and tailored rehabilitation journeys.

Members of the team have worked tirelessly to create a modern yet homely environment for residents, and Service Manager Kayleigh Wonnacott recognised their contributions by stating:

“I am incredibly proud of all the hard work our team has put into getting the service looking so great for the open day.

“Their dedication and passion are what make Kibblesworth a truly special place for our residents.”
