NR Times to recognise leading charities at awards event

The NR Times Charity of the Year Award celebrates the work of charities that support countless patients and families in their recovery and day-to-day lives.

These charities help to create a fundamental support structure around whole families that can be truly life-changing in its impact.

NR Times is looking to shine a light on the charities whose interventions are critical to the lives of those living with neurological illness or injury, and which are working on innovative and proactive ways to sustain and grow the organisation, while putting service users at the heart of everything they do.

The award is sponsored by Burnetts Solicitors – one of the largest law firms in the North, providing specialist legal advice for businesses, individuals and the public sector.

The specialist Brain Injury Team at Burnetts has a wealth of experience supporting patients and their families with all types of serious personal injury claims.

This includes those arising from road traffic collisions, accidents at work and following assaults.

Burnetts works closely with its Court of Protection Team to ensure a seamless service.

The organisation’s team has been re-accredited to Headway’s Solicitor Panel across all four offices in Newcastle, Carlisle, Hexham and Cockermouth, and is accredited by the UK Acquired Brain Injury Forum.

These associations and connections reinforce Burnetts strong reputation across the North of England for serious injury cases.

“I’m very proud that Burnetts are sponsoring the Charitt of the Year Award at the Second NR Times Awards,” says Paul Brown Partner and Brain Injury Specialist Solicitor at Burnetts Solicitors LLP in Newcastle.

“There are some wonderful charities in this sector providing many patients and their families important family and peer support, education and longer-term community support.

“As someone who has volunteered with a number of leading national and regional charities it is fantastic to play even a small part in showcasing these inspiring organisations and the people at the heart of them.”
