WSO Future Leaders funding recipients announced

The World Stroke Organisation (WSO) has announced the latest winners of its Future Stroke Leaders Programme; which funds innovators helping to reduce the global burden of stroke.

Its assessment committee considered nine project proposals which all incorporated the overall programme objective and were in line with the WSO’s mission, to reduce the global burden of stroke through more effective prevention, better treatment, and long-term support.

The duration of each grant is a year, with maximum funding per project set at US$20,000.

The four projects selected for grants were:

• Improving access of post-stroke rehabilitation in resource-limited setting through automated telerehabilitation technologies

• Improving the Global Management of Delirium in Acute Stroke Patients: A Proposal for Research and Action

• Telestroke care – a review of global practices

• Decreasing the Burden of Stroke in Sub-Saharan Africa Establishing Stroke Units.

All completed projects will be presented at the World Stroke Congress 2024 in Abu Dhabi.

The WSO said: “We look forward to seeing the results during the implementation year and the outcomes at WSC2024. Keep up the good and hard work.”
