We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paediatric Clinical Psychologist (registered with the HCPC) with specialist knowledge in Neuropsychology - including cognitive assessment and neurorehabilitation, to join our growing team at The London Neurocognitive Clinic, on 10 Harley Street London, W1G 9PF. The successful candidate will primarily work with children and young people, supporting a range of neurodevelopmental, neurological, and emotional difficulties. A person-centred and family-focused approach is essential, as is the ability to support clients from initial assessment through to intervention, including CBT and/or neurorehabilitation. The ideal candidate will be skilled in holistic formulation that considers the interplay of cognition, behaviour, and emotion, within the wider family, educational, and social system. Familiarity with specialist psychological models (e.g., ACT, CFT, EMDR, DBT, or MBCT) is desirable, though not essential. Experience with expert witness work is also welcome but not required. We are open to clinicians who are still developing in these areas and looking to grow professionally.

Main Duties

• Conduct psychological and neuropsychological assessments with children and adolescents presenting with cognitive, developmental, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
• Deliver tailored psychological interventions, including CBT and neurorehabilitation, to support adjustment, resilience, and cognitive functioning.
• Collaborate with families, schools, and multidisciplinary professionals to develop comprehensive and effective treatment plans.
• Maintain high clinical standards through evidence-based practice, clear documentation, and adherence to ethical guidelines.

• Provide expert witness assessments and reports for legal proceedings (at enhanced rates), focusing on the neuropsychological and emotional functioning of young people.

The Chantry is a specialist neurological centre in Ipswich and became part of Brainkind in October 2023. The Chantry provides rehabilitation for people recently diagnosed with stroke or head injuries and also offers support for people diagnosed with long term neurological conditions such as Huntington’s disease, Parkinsons, and multiple sclerosis. As the Senior Specialist Physiotherapist, you will have the opportunity to treat and manage a variety of presentations in the rehabilitation unit as well as in the complex care unit.

MAIN PURPOSE:       

To provide a physiotherapy service at senior level by assessing, implementing (by self or junior staff) and evaluating programmes of person-centred care as part of the multi-disciplinary team. To ensure continuity and consistency regarding service users’ physical management. To demonstrate a senior level of clinical, technical and research skills through breadth and depth of knowledge.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for assessment of service user needs in relation particularly to optimising independence and physical function
• To undertake comprehensive assessment of service users, using investigative and analytical skills to formulate individualised rehabilitation and treatment plans
• To promote choice in all aspects of clinical practice reviewing and making suggestions to enhance the service user experience and enabling concerns and complaints to be raised freely by service user and their representatives
• To liaise and communicate with other health and social care professionals and volunteers in the planning and delivery of occupational therapy
• To ensure appropriate prescription, provision and maintenance of equipment within available resources
• To ensure that up to date written and electronic records are maintained in accordance with Professional and Brankind standards, and that sensitive information is held securely
• To demonstrate clinical leadership and promote clinical supervision.
• To share knowledge and expertise with other staff through formal and informal teaching

• Work as autonomous speech and language therapist within your multidisciplinary team
