EBRAINS has extended the EBRAINS roadmap submission deadline for its 2026-2036 digital neuroscience plan to 15 March 2026 after requests from the research community.
The extension gives stakeholders a final opportunity to submit ideas that could help shape the future direction of Europe’s digital neuroscience infrastructure.
The roadmap, announced in November 2025, is a community-driven process that will define the scientific, clinical and technological priorities guiding the evolution of EBRAINS over the next decade.
EBRAINS is a digital research infrastructure providing neuroscientists with tools, data and computing services.
Contributions submitted through the call will be analysed and will directly inform discussions at the EBRAINS Roadmap Symposium in Munich on 21-22 May 2026.
“The Roadmap is a shared vision and implementation plan for the next decade of neuroscience in Europe,” said Viktor Jirsa, chief scientific officer of EBRAINS.
“We welcome contributions from individuals, collaborations, networks and institutions.
“Contributions should advance research with regard to scientific advancements, technological or clinical applications, and make full use of the tools that we have in the EBRAINS ecosystem.”
In addition to research-driven proposals, contributors are encouraged to identify gaps or opportunities for improvement within the EBRAINS infrastructure, which may help inform prioritisation and technical development over the coming ten years.
Further details about the purpose of the EBRAINS roadmap, who can contribute, the format of submissions, the integration process and review criteria are available on the EBRAINS website.
