Workshops for new and would-be case managers

New case managers and those considering entering the profession can learn more about life in brain injury and complex case management through upcoming workshops.

The New and Would Be case management foundation level one workshop is regarded as a definitive introduction to the role, with many now-seasoned case managers taking part in the programme over the years.

The Beyond the Beginnings workshop covers level two, and offers the opportunity for case managers to develop further.

The workshops, delivered by BABICM, offer the opportunity for those at the start of their journey to hear from specialist case managers, who will share their own experiences and expertise.

The New and Would Be workshop, held on March 9 in Milton Keynes, will be led by brain injury case managers Joanne Foster and Sally Wilkinson.

Topics include:

  • A look at the scope for brain injury case management
  • Identifying the short and long term goals for our clients
  • Small group work using ‘real life’ case material
  • Coping with the unknown.

As well as the practical aspects of case management, the session will also explain the BABICM competencies and standards in professional behaviour, conduct and aptitude, which are highly regarded by litigators, deputies and client stakeholder groups.

Beyond the Beginnings will be held in Manchester on March 23 and will cover the litigation process, terminology, tricky issues and how the clinical work of case managers can play a vital role.

The workshop will be led by case managers Jackie Waggott and Kevin Cross.

For BABICM members, New and Would Be and Beyond the Beginnings are open for booking for £125 per session, or £230 for both.
