A Cheshire tractor run has raised more than £2,300 for the Stroke Association after a three-day route across England and Wales.
Thirty-two vintage tractors set off from Davenham at 6am on Friday, May 1, heading to Llangollen and back over more than 200 miles.
The event was organised by Alex Kettlewell, Rhys Jones and Phillip Stanier in aid of the Stroke Association.
The charity was chosen by Alex after his father, Allan, survived a severe stroke in 2023 and has worked hard on his recovery since.
Alex described his dad as his hero and paid tribute to his perseverance during an emotional round-up on the final day of the trip.
The journey began at the home of Alan and Margaret Davies, who welcomed the group with hot drinks and biscuits before the convoy set off.
On the first day, the tractors travelled through Moulton Tunnels, Winsford and Wrenbury before stopping for breakfast at The Raven Cafe at Prees Heath.
The group later moved on to The Stonehouse Brewery in Oswestry for refreshments before heading to The Wild Pheasant Inn in Llangollen, marking the end of day one amid changing weather conditions.
On day two, Rhys Jones led the group over steep hills, through quarries and forests, and along challenging tracks.
The route included a stop at Llanarmon, where the group visited The Hand Pub and The West Arms, before continuing to Glyn Ceiriog for coffee and cake provided by Colin Owen and his family.
Day three saw the tractors begin the return journey under Alex’s leadership.
After crossing the border at Farndon, the group stopped for lunch at the Grosvenor Arms in Aldford.
Fortified with packed lunches provided by Jayne Rudd Catering, the group made the final stretch home via Beeston and Oulton Park.
The convoy was welcomed back by residents in Davenham Village.
The group began with £1,000 from initial fundraising and continued to raise money throughout the trip.
They also introduced fines and forfeits for anyone who broke down, overtook the leader or parked inappropriately.
In total, the run raised more than £2,300 for the Stroke Association, with further donations still being received.
The journey saw more than 200 miles travelled by 32 men and one woman across England and Wales.
Following the ride, Alex thanked everyone who attended, supported the event and helped raise money, including Rhys Jones, Phil Stanier, Nicky Kettlewell, Charlotte Rudd and Jayne Rudd.
