The individuals and teams who are truly going above and beyond in their support of clients and commitment to changing lives are to be acknowledged in the NR Times Awards.
Healthcare is an area in which the phrase ‘above and beyond’ is regularly, and rightly, used to demonstrate the dedication of the many people working within the sector whose tireless work supports whole families after life-changing neurological injury or illness.
Now, in the Above and Beyond Award, NR Times is looking to shine a light on these individuals and teams through its inaugural awards.
Open to entrants across the UK and internationally, the award will recognise the life-changing efforts and outstanding commitment seen from so many.
The Above and Beyond Award is one of 12 categories open for entry in the NR Times Awards, which were established to give recognition to those whose commitment to neuro-rehab is changing the future.
This award is sponsored by BIS Services, an award-winning specialist cognitive rehabilitation provider, committed to maximising function in clients who live with brain injury or neurological illness.
Natalie Mackenzie, director of BIS Services, says: “As providers of cognitive rehabilitation and brain injury support services, we at BIS Services are committed to ensuring that the individuals who work with our clients and their families are of the highest calibre.
“Our core values include trust and integrity throughout the organisation, and we strive to ensure that this is reflected in the work of our talented rehabilitation assistants.
“They, along with all of the individuals working tirelessly and often selflessly to improve the lives of others, is something that must be celebrated and acknowledged.
“We are extremely proud to sponsor the Above and Beyond category, knowing all too well that individuals exceed their job descriptions on a daily basis, without expectation, and with little applause.
“Their ongoing commitment to working with individuals requiring assistance across various life domains is far too often an expectation, but it is something that must be championed and acknowledged across professions and amongst peers.
“I look forward to reviewing the entries, and am confident we will see some wonderful examples of above and beyond, across sectors, leaving us all inspired to improve further.
“I encourage entries from all levels of professions, including those not often recognised elsewhere, from those early in their careers and roles right through to the seasoned experienced experts.”
Deborah Johnson, editor of NR Times, adds: “For many people, going that extra mile in their work will be second nature, something they do every day, and possibly receive little recognition for. This award seeks to change that, and to truly shine a light on the work that is done by so many people, which is truly helping to change lives.
“We want to shine a light on as many committed individuals and groups as possible, whose efforts are benefitting survivors and families and are helping them to look to the future. These outstanding professionals can play a key role in a person’s recovery, and truly help them rebuild their lives.”
