Breakthrough launches new occupational therapy network to enhance rehabilitation services

Breakthrough is proud to introduce Breakthrough Occupational Therapy (OT) —a bespoke service designed by case managers, for case managers.
This new service offering, complementing its existing case management and complex care divisions, reflects Breakthrough’s continued evolution as a leader in rehabilitation following complex injury.
This latest expansion reinforces Breakthrough’s commitment to delivering comprehensive client-centred rehabilitation, offering high-quality, cost-effective occupational therapy interventions through a growing network of highly skilled professionals.
Unlike standard OT services, Breakthrough OT is designed to complement and integrate seamlessly with case management and complex care services, ensuring a truly holistic approach. The network focuses on goal-centred interventions, delivering personalised support that adapts to each client’s rehabilitation journey.
Breakthrough OT is managed by Holly Luxton, a highly experienced occupational therapist and award-winning senior case manager.
She explains:
“We have set out with some very clear and exacting standards and ensure that our Breakthrough OTs are all highly qualified and experienced clinicians, holding HCPC and RCOT registrations.
“As both an OT and a case manager myself, I understand the value of obtaining the right support for clients as soon as possible, and so we guarantee fast therapist matching and timely assessment and report delivery.”
“But it’s much more than that,” she continues.
“The network combines to offer expertise across multiple conditions relevant to case managers – from acquired brain injury to complex orthopaedic and neurological rehabilitation, and every single assessment is reviewed by another practising OT, for clinical excellence.”
Victoria McDermott, Managing Director at Breakthrough and a highly experienced OT herself, further highlights the key advantages of the new service:
“Our OT network is built on experience, clinical excellence, and a deep understanding of case management needs. With a straightforward referral process and rapid response times, clients, case managers, and legal professionals can expect efficient, evidence-based interventions that promote recovery, independence, and wellbeing.”
Holly, who is always keen to hear from experienced OTs interested in joining the growing network, emphasised the service’s focus on collaboration and professional growth:
“At Breakthrough OT, we believe in supporting both our clients and our clinicians. Our network offers peer support, clinical discussions, and continuous professional development through CPD opportunities, webinars, and expert-led training.
“We don’t believe in working in silos – collaboration is at the heart of everything we do.”
“Breakthrough Occupational Therapy is a further milestone in the growth of the company and really showcases the holistic service we provide,” says Annabelle Lofthouse, CEO of Breakthrough.
“I am so proud to work alongside some of the best clinical professionals in the United Kingdom; our occupational therapy team members are all highly specialised and share a commitment to delivering outstanding outcomes for clients.
“At Breakthrough, we understand rehabilitation, meaning that both clients and referrers are in safe and knowledgeable hands from the very start.”
As Breakthrough continues to grow under its new brand identity, and according to its motto of ‘Rebuilding lives, together’ the launch of Breakthrough OT marks just one of many steps towards a broader vision—one that places collaboration, innovation, and client empowerment at its core.
