Case managers urged to share experiences of brain injury provision

As the eagerly-awaited ABI Strategy is confirmed as being published in ‘early 2023’, brain injury case managers are urged to take part in a survey to gather their experiences.

The ABI Strategy is set to be a hugely significant introduction in brain injury support, with the strategy looking to enable people living in the community to access the services they need in a more coherent way.

And to help gather the experiences of case managers ahead of that time, NR Times has partnered with Nockolds Solicitors to give a clear picture of the reality faced by people living with brain injury.

The survey will help to lay bare the situation and help to show what more needs to be done, ahead of the ABI Strategy being completed.

NR Times recently discovered what some of the leading names in neuro-rehab believe should be included in the ABI Strategy, which the Government has confirmed is now only months away.

And now, case managers working in brain injury are being urged to complete the brief survey to help add further to the evidence and insight available to MPs Chris Bryant and Gillian Keegan, who are leading the creation of the Strategy.

Jennie Jones, head of the medical negligence and personal injury team at Nockolds Solicitors, said: “Since launching our survey, we have been delighted with the response.

“With ABI care at such a crossroads, we are looking at a wide range of issues including the government’s ABI strategy, rehabilitation, funding, COVID-19, recruitment and the legal process.

“As solicitors specialising in brain injury cases, we appreciate the vital work case managers undertake.

“We would encourage brain injury case managers throughout the UK to take part in this survey and share their views.”

Deborah Johnson, editor of NR Times, said: “The creation of the ABI strategy is a momentous occasion in ABI provision nationally, but there is a huge amount to be done in terms of its relevance and implementation.

“Case managers play a vital role in brain injury support and their insight is hugely valuable in laying bare how the land truly lies for their clients.

“We would urge case managers to share their insight into the current situation through the survey, the results of which will be hugely revealing about the reality of ABI support.”
