The UK Stroke Forum, hosted by the Stroke Association and BIASP, has announced it is extending its deadline for abstract submissions.
In a statement released by the hosts, it states that “due to high demand we’ve extended the abstract submission deadline for UKSF 2023.”
Submissions for abstracts opened in late April this year and an original deadline was set for June 9th, but the new deadline extension moves that date back by over a week.
The hosts of the forum encourages authors to submit abstracts on current and emerging stroke issues, with authors having the chance to submit up to 5 abstracts.
Submissions have been made an easier process too.
Through the use of the events e-Poster website and digital poster boards, authors can submit and create posters, whilst saving on printing costs and being able to upload with “minimal fuss.”
This years Stroke Forum offers the chance for authors to take part and present to delegates in a new e-Poster session at this years stroke forum, which promises to give its audience “more time and energy to browse and hear from authors.”
Authors will also have the chance to submit a complementary video alongside their abstract which will be shown across screens at this years hosting venue, the ICC Birmingham.
The hosts note that is best for authors to start their abstracts in “good time” in order to allow for colleagues to read it and to provide their feedback.
Tips for abstracts given by the hosts include:
- Use a good title that draws the reader in
- Provide introductory background information that leads into a clear statement of your research question
- Be clear with descriptions of your results
- Be bold when discussing your findings
- Take inspiration from other abstracts
The new extension put in place pushes the deadline for abstract submissions to Wednesday 21 June.
