Charities can make their claim to be the Charity of the Year in the first-ever NR Times Awards.
The inaugural awards are now open for submission, and the many charities making such a difference to the lives of people with brain and spinal injury and neurological conditions are urged to enter.
The work of charities and voluntary organisations can be a lifeline for survivors, families and carers alike, in supporting them to negotiate the challenges neurological injury or illness brings to whole support structures.
Through the NR Times Awards, examples of outstanding work and commitment from charities across the UK will be highlighted, to show the huge positive impact they are having in communities across the country.
The awards are open for entry and submissions can be made until August 31. There are 12 categories open for entry.
The NR Times Charity of the Year is sponsored by brain injury rehabilitation specialists Reach, which delivers home-based rehab on a national basis and has been supporting survivors to manage their own recovery since 1995.

“I’m delighted that reach is sponsoring the Charity of the Year Award at the inaugural NR Times Awards,” says Heather Batey, founder and managing director of Reach.
“There are wonderful charities within the rehabilitation sector, from acute family support through to inpatient rehab and longer-term community care, championing interventions for patients and families alike.
“It is a delight to play even a small part in showcasing these inspiring and valuable and organisations.”
Deborah Johnson, editor of NR Times, adds: “Charities play such a key role in the lives of so many people affected by neurological illness or injury. For survivors, families and carers alike, the support of charities can truly be life-changing.
“Through this award, we hope to shine a light on some of the outstanding work and extraordinary commitment we know happens every day, and the amazing impact charities and their teams are having in our communities.
“We are grateful to Heather and the team at Reach for their support with this award – as a business which has supported brain injury survivors for almost 30 years in regaining their independence and rebuilding their lives, they will have seen first-hand on many occasions the vital role charities can play in this process.
“We would urge any charities to enter these awards, or for people to enter on their behalf, so we can find out more about the difference they are making in supporting whole families in dealing with the challenges each day brings and enabling them to look to the future with hope and positivity.”
